Hi Wrench: Ok, I will be considering what you say in
this latest and it may take me a couple weeks or so to respond. I can
see already, though, that some points we've been discussing have
seemingly been dropped in mid-air and so we will need to revisit them.
As far as the specific points you objected to goes, I really
think my responses were on the money and actually invited by your
referral to a supposed distinction between "make" and "create" in
Genesis 1:26-27. In the context of our over-all discussion the Genesis
passage has already been mentioned by us both, several times, but the
supposed distinction you introduced between "make" and "create" seemed
quite provocative and certainly invited me to deal with it. After all, I
could hardly just ignore it and let it drop. Trying to limit ourselves
in this manner doesn't seem conducive to an objective discussion of the
issues. For example, Wrench, What would you have thought had I refused
to deal with your mention of this supposed distinction...on the same
grounds? Do you think you might have thought to yourself "aha, he
doesn't want to deal with this!"? Do you see why it's so hard to let
something like that ride? I hope so. So anyway, I'll be reading thru
your latest and see where it leads us, and I'll get back with you on the
points that I think may have been dropped in midair.
I agree we
should try to find some way to shorten things up, but it's never going
to work if either of us should make such suggestions about the other in
the very MIDST of such shortening. So long, friend, and by the way, I do
not use the term lightly, I mean it.
